The Francis women's woolen petticoat jacket is our take on a short, mid-thigh length coat that is warm and comfortable - perfect for autumn and winter chills. The jacket is decorated with a beautiful collar, called a "storm collar" in sailor jargon, which can be worn raised up, as it is wide enough to shield the neck and neck from the cold wind. The coat is double-breasted and buttoned. The lowered shoulder line makes the coat oversized, a good size larger, to accommodate a thick jumper as well as a jacket. Pockets on the sides. Winter jacket, fully insulated. Made from a heavyweight fabric with a predominance of wool.
If classic long coats aren't for you, go for our petticoat style jacket. In a slightly smaller size, even lovers of fitted coats will certainly find it to their liking. Pa combination of elegance and casualness. A jacket with a girly charm will go great with simple trousers or maxi dresses. Depending on what style you prefer, you can look a bit grunge by reaching for 'heavy' boots like clogs or trappers, or wear chic boots and go from rebel to subtle woman. If the coat is your everyday outfit, the barefoot option has the advantage of a mid-thigh length that will make you comfortable in the car, bus or other means of transport. My ideal ensemble: our navy blue Francis petticoat, a grey woollen turtleneck, topped off with mom fit jeans, sock boots, a knitted beanie - and winter is not intimidated!

It has quite a large overlap, hence it is easy to widen it by moving the buttons without affecting the cut. If you are unsure of the size, please contact us.

Lining: 100% acetate
Insulation: 100% non-woven recycled polyester
Our coats are insulated with a compressed thermo-insulating quilted fleece on the lining. The fleece is made from recycled polyester fibres. The material is lightweight, thin and at the same time perfectly insulating. The insulating fleece we use is resistant to moisture (it retains its insulating properties and warming effect even in damp conditions), stops the wind, is hypoallergenic and breathable. It is OEKOtex® Standard 100 certified.
The Francis women's wool barefoot jacket has been designed and sewn by hand in our workshop, with Fair Trade principles and concern for the environment.
The jacket should be dry-cleaned. For home wool restoration we recommend Brush for cleaning and care of the coat, which can be purchased in our shop. Taking care of your clothing is also an expression of concern for the environment, use our tips: How do you look after your coat? All you need to do is: air your coat regularly, hang it on a shaped hanger, brush it and store it properly, and you will enjoy it for years.
Individual order - Some modifications can be made at the client's request: shortening, lengthening of the sleeve, shortening and lengthening of the coat. Cost to be determined individually, after prior contact.
An individual order is not subject to exchange or refund.
The lead time depends on the company's current stock and the availability of the fabric colour in question. If a given coat is available in the workshop, the order will be fulfilled very quickly - 2-5 working days. If it is necessary to sew a new coat or individualise the order - making alterations or sewing a new coat - the lead time may be extended, up to a maximum of 2 weeks.
Our coats are sewn using traditional methods, so please be patient while waiting for your order to be realised, we do not sew coats "to stock".
