The Freja grey melange winter coat is an oversized A loose-fitting style with a double-breasted button fastening. A coat with dropped shoulders, a tie fastening and two diagonal front pockets. Midi length. The back has no slit at the hem. A belt made from the same fabric. It perfectly defines the waist and gives the silhouette a balanced look. A wide, turned-down lapel collar with gently rounded edges. The coat is fully lined and additionally insulated. Made from a soft, substantial woollen fabric in a beautiful, delicate, irregular pattern. A premium product available in limited quantities. Refined down to the smallest detail, it is perfect for the winter season.
When designing this coat, we wanted it to capture the essence of Scandinavian style – cosy minimalism – with a simple, geometric shape, natural colours, and no unnecessary embellishments, focusing on functionality and comfort. The soft silhouette and soft fabric ensure comfort in winter. The relaxed, slightly oversized cut will accommodate most of your clothes. The coat’s length will easily keep you protected and warm, even when styled with a mini skirt. The raised collar will wrap you up and shield you from the cold wind. The Freja grey melange winter coat is perfect for both everyday outfits and sophisticated, elegant occasions.
This is an oversized style, so if you prefer a more fitted cut, we recommend choosing a smaller size. The belt can be removed or tied at the back, in which case this boxy silhouette will be ideal for women with an apple-shaped figure. Material: 97% virgin wool, 3% cashmere
Lining: 100% acetate
Like viscose, acetate is produced from cellulose. Acetate yarn can also be made from recycled cellulose such as paper. The acetate lining is excellent at absorbing moisture and permeable to air. It is coated with an antistatic apprettee and is OEKOtex® Standard 100 certified.
Insulation: 100% non-woven recycled polyester
Our coats are insulated with a compressed thermo-insulating quilted fleece on the lining. The fleece is made from polyester fibres produced from recycled materials. The material is lightweight, thin and at the same time perfectly insulating. The insulating fleece we use is resistant to moisture (it retains its insulating properties and warming effect even in damp conditions), stops the wind, is hypoallergenic and breathable, and is OEKOtex® Standard 100 certified.
We designed and sewed the Freja grey melange winter coat in our family workshop. For over 35 years, we have strived to nurture and promote traditional craftsmanship, putting our whole hearts into our work and teaching future generations to respect the work of human hands. We follow the #lesswaste principle and, by laying out the patterns by hand, we minimise waste. Nothing goes to waste here. Furthermore, to avoid overproduction, we do not sew items for stock. We therefore ask for your patience and understanding. We will do our utmost to fulfil your order as quickly as possible. However, the entire process is quite time-consuming and labour-intensive. We even sew on the buttons by hand.
Help protect the environment and look after your coat so that you can enjoy it for many years to come. The coat should be dry-cleaned. In our shop, we offer Brush for cleaning and care of the coat, which is perfect for helping you refresh your woollens. You’ll find further tips on how to extend the life of your coat in the tab How to nurture and care for the coat?
Individual order – We make all our coats in-house, which is why we can carry out certain alterations at the customer’s request, such as shortening or lengthening the sleeves, or shortening or lengthening the coat itself. We determine the cost on a case-by-case basis, after assessing the scope of the work following prior contact.
An individual order is not subject to exchange or refund.
The order processing time depends on current stock levels at our tailoring workshop and the availability of the specific fabric colour. If the coat in question is in stock at the workshop, the order will be processed very quickly – within 2–5 working days. If the coat needs to be made to order or customised – whether this involves alterations or making a new coat to the customer’s specifications – the order processing time may be extended to a maximum of 2 weeks.
