Description

The Florence women’s winter herringbone coat is a double-breasted, padded herringbone coat with a loose, straight cut. The coat features a removable belt made from the same fabric. The dropped shoulder line gives the coat a looser, slightly oversized fit. The tie belt accentuates the waist. A gently flared turn-down collar with rounded corners, evoking a retro style. Front slanted inset pockets. Knee-length. No vent at the back. Limited edition. Fully lined, perfect for winter.

The stylish, woollen Florence coat, featuring a classic herringbone pattern, will keep you cosy on cold days. You can wear the wide, turn-up collar turned up to provide extra protection against the cold and wind. This slightly oversized coat style allows for a variety of looks and combinations. The dropped sleeves ensure a high level of comfort and are ideal for those who enjoy layered looks. In its own right, this design blends classic and modern styles and will become an indispensable part of your everyday wardrobe. All the more so as it’s available in several herringbone colours, not just black and white. Although it was precisely this combination and my grandmother’s coat that inspired the creation of this design. After all, I think every one of our grandmothers had a herringbone coat in her wardrobe. Our Florence is a nod to the classic cut and pattern, given a modern twist.

It’ll look great with both boots and a leather handbag, as well as with a soft knitted hat and a loose-fitting scarf. Style it however you like.

‘Oversize’ is a term used to describe looser-fitting garments, which are designed to suit people of different sizes.  The Florence women’s winter herringbone coat is an oversized style, deliberately scaled up, particularly in the upper sections; therefore, we recommend that those who prefer a more fitted cut choose a smaller size. We recommend our tips on choosing a cut, which can be found in the tab How do you choose a coat to suit your figure?

We sew our coats by hand in our workshop. The process of making a coat begins with laying out the fabric by hand, so that every part of the coat fits together both in terms of construction and the herringbone pattern. Next comes the sewing of the coat and the hand-sewing on of the buttons. The entire process is labour-intensive. However, we are confident that we deliver garments produced with attention to the smallest detail. In line with our philosophy of minimising our environmental impact, we avoid overproduction and do not make coats for stock. We therefore ask for your patience whilst you wait for your order to be fulfilled. We do our utmost to ensure your coat reaches you as quickly as possible.

Material: 70% wool, 30% polyamide
Lining: 100% acetate
Acetate retains its vapour permeability and excellent moisture absorption. It is coated with an antistatic apprettee and is OEKOtex® Standard 100 certified.

Insulation: 100% non-woven recycled polyester
Our coats are insulated with a compressed thermo-insulating quilted fleece on the lining. The fleece is made from recycled polyester fibres. The insulating fleece we use is resistant to moisture (it retains its insulating properties and warming effect even in damp conditions), stops the wind, is hypoallergenic and breathable. It is OEKOtex® Standard 100 certified.

The coat should be dry-cleaned. However, you can take care of it on a day-to-day basis by using the following products offered in our shop Brushes for cleaning and care of the coat. By taking care of your coat you are also helping to protect the environment, which is why in the How to nurture and care for the coat? we have included tips on how to extend the life of your coat.

If the coat needs to be made to order or customised – whether this involves alterations or making a new coat from scratch – the order processing time may be extended to a maximum of 2 weeks.

The Florence women’s winter herringbone coat is our own original design, and we make it in our family-run workshop. We have been practising this craft for over 36 years and make our coats using traditional methods, which is why we do not produce coats for stock.
