Description

The Alma double-breasted Shetland wool blazer is a longer jacket with a relaxed fit that plays perfectly into the role of an outer garment. Straight cut with figure-hugging darts at the front and back, mid-thigh length. No zipper. Double-breasted fastening with colour-matched buttons. Classic sewn-in long sleeves finished with buttons. Buttons in the Alma jacket have a decorative role, just like jewellery. They add character and style to the whole. Side pockets sewn diagonally, decorated with patches on the front. Perfectly cut, slimming collar with gently flared lapels and upturned teeth.

The entire cut of the Alma double-breasted Shetland wool blazer is kept in a minimalist style. Its main embellishment is the hand-sewn buttons and the beautiful beige-grey fabric. Shetland wool is sourced from sheep living on the Shetland Islands. Its interesting feature is the wide range of colours available - and without dyeing. The Alma jacket is made of fabric in eesit (beige grey - light beige interspersed with grey - the colour names come from the extinct Scandinavian language of norms). It is Soft yet robust. Lightly tweed. Provides warmth and comfort. This makes it also suitable for colder days, and the stand-up collar protects against gusts of wind. The jacket is fully lined with acetate.

All this makes the Alma double-breasted Shetland wool jacket easy to style in every season, changing its character with accessories. Once it plays the role of a coat, replacing a classic trench or a katana. Paired with a turtleneck, with wide-leg trousers or with a shirt and tailored trousers, the Alma will play the role of a jacket - adding a touch of sophistication. It also looks great layered under a coat or trench (recommended with Marcel's trench). If you choose a larger size, the Alma jacket will fit perfectly into the current trend of oversized jackets. Then pair it with a hoodie, denim trousers and sneakers for an everyday but very stylish look.

Tweed material: 80% Shetland wool, 20% polyamide

Lining: 100% acetate

Like viscose, acetate is produced from cellulose. Acetate yarn can also be made from recycled cellulose such as paper. The acetate lining is excellent at absorbing moisture and allowing air to pass through, so it wears well. It is coated with an antistatic apprettee and is OEKOtex® Standard 100 certified.

We designed and sewed the Alma double-breasted Shetland wool blazer in our family workshop in Poznan. This is where our designs, blanks, trial coats and those that finally reach you are made. The coats in our atelier are sewn by hand from selected materials. Often culled from deadstock to reduce overproduction and its negative impact on the environment. The process of making the coat begins with hand layering the fabric so that each piece of the coat fits together both in design and pattern. Then the coat is sewn and the buttons are sewn on by hand. The whole process is labour-intensive. However, we are confident that we are delivering garments made with attention to the smallest detail.

As we sew all the products ourselves, we offer the possibility of  Individual Order with minor modifications, such as shortening or lengthening the sleeves, shortening or lengthening the jacket. The cost of modifications is determined individually after prior contact. An individual order is not subject to refund or exchange.

The jacket should be dry-cleaned. However, you can take care of it on a day-to-day basis by using the Brushes for cleaning and care of the coat. It is also advisable to air the jacket regularly, hang it on a shaped hanger (included in the purchase), unbutton it while driving and watch out for snags, and it will last for years. For more information on how to take care of coats, please see our short guide at the following link How to care for and maintain coats?

The lead time depends on the current stock in the atelier and the availability of the fabric colour. If a particular jacket is available in the studio, the order will be processed very quickly, 2-5 working days. If it is necessary to sew the jacket or customise the order - to make an alteration or sew a new jacket according to the customer's specifications - the lead time can be extended, up to a maximum of 2 weeks.
