OUR VALUES

When my parents set up the studio 37 years ago, they had no idea what the future held or what cultural, economic and historical changes they would have to face. Back then, they wanted to design and produce colourful, interestingly shaped and comfortable clothes, which everyone was missing. My parents always considered themselves true craftspeople, fascinated by unique, characterful, hand-sewn garments. Above all, however, they were meticulously crafted, adhering to the principles of the art of tailoring, using traditional, labour-intensive methods and a great deal of heart and soul, whilst remaining environmentally friendly. That is why, in our workshop, there are no shortcuts, and every coat we make is a gem of craftsmanship, a creation of our own hands. We take an individual approach to every product, starting with a pattern laid out by hand to minimise waste, and finishing with the final touches, such as hand-sewing on buttons or appliqués.

So when you ask yourselves: Who made my coat, my clothes? (Who Made My Clothes?) Remember: We made it for you, with you in mind, and put our whole heart into it.

All our coats and jackets, from design to finished product, are made in our workshop in Poznań – our second home – in a friendly and dignified environment, in accordance with Fair Trade principles. And we’re very proud of that. How else could we love our coats and expect you to love them too? Good energy comes round full circle.

From production right through to delivery, ever since the studio was founded, we have operated transparently and in accordance with the principles of sustainable development. We know our suppliers, support local businesses and promote local craftsmanship. We sew using materials that we have carefully selected, sourced from sustainable and environmentally friendly production processes.
In our workshop, we make use of every scrap of fabric. In line with the ‘Less Waste’ principle, nothing goes to waste here – everything is given a new lease of life.

Here, even the dispatch of coats to our customers isn’t handled by anonymous logistics centres. That’s right – we handle the dispatch ourselves. Packaging – we know how important attractive packaging is from a marketing perspective, and we’ve often considered introducing beautiful packaging so that the very process of unpacking becomes a profound aesthetic experience. However, we deliberately ensure that all our packaging is second-hand or recycled, without unnecessary fillers, decorations or prints – we don’t want to contribute to deforestation and the use of chemicals when we can successfully reuse what has already been produced. We hope you’ll understand.
At Talia, we believe that the customer, their expectations and direct contact with them are what matter most. That is precisely why the parents were not keen on expanding the studio and losing that personal touch with customers. The family-run nature of our studio is one of its greatest strengths, and I will do my utmost to preserve the character and atmosphere we have built up over the years.
We have always been guided by moral and ethical principles, which are very important to us. Thanks to this, we have managed to survive the times when craftsmanship was slowly fading away, local workshops and studios were closing down one by one, and mass-production and automated manufacturing became the norm everywhere.

Thank you for being with us and for sharing our appreciation of handcrafted work. In our view, it is important and gives products their unique character. And now, thanks to the internet, we can share our passion for coats with a wider audience, both in Poland and abroad. In doing so, we are promoting traditional Polish craftsmanship, in the hope that future generations will come to love the work of human hands just as we do.
