The coat is very modern cut combining the latest trends with functionality and timeless style. UWe sewed it from soft wool blends, which makes it very malleable. Its soft texture requires soft fabric. However, the advantage wools Its composition ensures breathability and thermal comfort on cooler days. Particular attention should be paid to an interesting fabric pattern, which resembles the arrangement of fir twigs. Herringbone pattern It is woven from threads in two colours – graphite and grey – creating a delicate yet eye-catching pattern. The whole piece is finished with a lining. Additionally, insulated, including the sleeves. Carefully cut and sewn. Meticulously finished down to the smallest detail. Premium product in limited quantities.
The coat has raglan-sleeved, long sleeves, a lined collar, decorative epaulettes on the shoulders and two side pockets finished with piping, as well as a decorative cape at the back. It fastens with a double-breasted button placket and is tied at the waist. Mid-calf length with a back zipper that not only adds elegance but also functionality.
The Helena long winter herringbone coat is a coat that is very well-designed cut. Designed to flatter the figure whilst ensuring comfort. Hence the raglan sleeve construction, which lends a subtle sense of ease and a modern flair. The cut is free, but not oversized. That’s why, despite its fitted cut, it will still accommodate a jumper or a jacket. The most important thing with this style is that it shouldn’t cling to the hips. Compared to fitted coats, it runs half a size larger. However, the charm lies entirely in this looser fit. Material: 80% wool, 20% polyamide
Lining: 100% viscose
The look is completed by a viscose lining with a subtle sheen, which ensures comfort and highlights the elegance of the meticulous finish. The viscose lining is highly absorbent and breathable. It is treated with an anti-static finish and is certified to the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100.
Insulation: 100% recycled polyester non-woven insulation
We insulate our coats with compressed, thermally insulating non-woven fabric quilted onto the lining. The non-woven fabric is made from recycled polyester fibres. The material is lightweight, thin and yet provides excellent insulation. The insulation we use is moisture-resistant (it retains its insulating properties and warmth even in damp conditions), windproof, hypoallergenic and breathable. It is OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified.
How to look after your coat
The coat should be dry-cleaned. Proper care, hanging and avoiding snags will ensure that your coat remains beautiful for a long time. A family-run studio in Poznań
Helena: a long winter coat in a graphite herringbone pattern designed and sewn in our family workshop in Poznań. Thanks to the handcrafted process involved in making the coat, we are able to precisely match the fabric pattern on every part of the coat whilst arranging the cut to produce as little waste as possible, thereby minimising the negative impact on the environment and providing you with a coat of the highest quality.
There is also the possibility of Individual orders, i.e. with minor alterations as requested by the customer. We can shorten or lengthen the sleeves, or adjust the overall length of the coat. If you’re not keen on the epaulettes on the shoulders, it’s also possible to remove them (you can do this yourself as well – the epaulettes are sewn on). We determine the cost of this service on a case-by-case basis after prior contact and discussion of the available options. An individual order is not subject to exchange or refund.
The lead time depends on the current stock in the atelier and the availability of the fabric colour in question. If the given coat is available in the atelier, the order will be fulfilled very quickly within 2-5 working days. If it is necessary to sew the coat or individualise the order - making alterations or sewing a new coat - the lead time may be extended, up to a maximum of 2 weeks.
We have been practising traditional tailoring for 38 years, and every one of our coats is hand-sewn. For this reason, we do not make coats to stock, so please bear with us – we need to make this coat especially for you. Thank you for supporting a local business.
